| Brooke MacDonald
As a child, Brooke often taught class in her bedroom. She prepared lesson plans, wrote the daily schedule on the chalkboard, read aloud and worked with Barbie and Skipper individually. Barbie always took her timed multiplication table tests, was awarded stars on the monitoring chart and then sometimes Brooke gave one on one sessions to help her improve. At nine Brooke knew you must teach, assess and then correct each student’s problem individually; even if it was only a home school lesson with no real students and no repercussions if they didn’t succeed.
Although Brooke was encouraged to become an educator by her 7th grade English teacher, she decided to focus on public outreach in a different manner by working with the media and planning special events. Now she has the best of both worlds, working with a wide array of education- and kid-focused companies and promoting their products and services. She manages the day-to-day activities of several accounts and assists with creative brainstorming for multiple clients
While at the College Of Charleston in Charleston, SC, Brooke honed her media relations and writing skills with two internships for the Lt. Governor of Maryland and Maryland Department of Natural Resources Public Communication office. She later developed marketing and event planning expertise at Ritz Camera Centers, INC and the non-profit Coastal Conservation Association. Brooke brings clear, concise writing, a take-charge attitude, first-rate organizational skills, and excellent people skills to any assignment. |
Brooke is a member of the Public Relations Society of America. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, running, traveling, boating, fishing, enjoying wine with friends and hanging out with her family.
