PublicSchoolWORKS’ Steroid and Performance-Enhancing Substances Online Training Course Approved by Oregon DOE
Employees can take the online course to meet the state’s Training and Assessment requirement
Cincinnati, OH (November 30, 2015) — PublicSchoolWORKS’ “Steroids and Supplements: Use, Abuse and Prevention Strategies” online training course is now officially approved by the Oregon Department of Education as meeting the Oregon School Activities Association’s (OSSA) Steroids Training and Assessment requirement and is now listed as an approved course on the Oregon Department of Education website. In an attempt to reduce the use and abuse of anabolic steroids and performance enhancing substances (ASPES) among school-age children, OSSA requires all district employees who are coaches or athletic directors to be trained on identifying the signs of ASPES use and abuse, as well as understanding evidence-based prevention strategies. The Oregon State Legislature Senate Bill 517 requires all applicable employees complete this training once every four years.
